Royer r-121
Originally released in 1998 the Royer R-121 uses a patented offset ribbon placements that gives the two sides of the microphone a distinct sound. The front has a darker tone and higher SPL capability, while the back is brighter. A popular choice on amplifiers, the R-121 smaller ribbon element has a more midrange forward tone and reduced proximity effect also makes it an excellent spot mic on acoustic instruments.
