RCA 77-DX

Apart from the 44 model, the 77 is likely the most recognizable RCA microphone. Since the 1950’s they have been used to capture everything from Elvis’ voice to Earl’s banjo. By adjusting the shutter setting you can change the directional pattern of the microphone. Bi-direction (figure 8) is where the microphone shines with a slightly exaggerated low end and a gentle high frequency roll off, while uni-directional (cardioid) and omni-directional settings are significantly brighter.
