Neumann U 67
The Neumann U 67 is a multi-pattern tube large diaphragm condenser microphone and was the first released in 1960. The K67 capsule, which is the basis of most modern designs, has dual backplates which allows the front and rear to be tuned independently so they can be more easily matched. This makes for a microphone with even sounding figure 8 and omni-directional patterns for an incredible versatility. We have two at the studio; a modern reissue with the capsule tuned by Klaus Heyne, and a vintage microphone rebuilt by Mark and Preston Tate White.
