Neumann km 84

The Neumann KM 84 is a small diaphragm FET condenser microphone and was the first microphone to use phantom power (48V DC) to drive its circuitry. Although production stopped in 1992 the KM 84 remains one of Neumann’s most popular microphones. It has a very forgiving off axis frequency response so if a player moves while playing or their seating position changes slightly between takes it usually sounds the same. We have six available at the studio and regularly use them on any and all acoustic instruments.
