Fender Jaguar
1963 Fender Jaguar. It was refinished at some point in its life and the headstock decal was sanded off when purchased. The former owner said he “didn’t like labels”…as if it isn’t obviously from the unique design that its a Jaguar.
The assortment of switches on a Jaguar control the guitars “lead” and “rhythm” circuit. The 3 switches on the lower bout control the lead circuit. The first slide switch on nearest the bridge engages a mid-tone cut switch, sometimes called the “strangle” switch. The middle is an on/off for the bridge pickup, and the third is an on/off switch for the neck pickup. The lead circuit also has two pots, a master volume and a tone control.
The rhythm circuit on the bout consists of a single two-way slide switch that solely engages the bass-heavy neck pickup. There are also two wheels on the horn that alter the volume (nearest the slide switch) and tone.
